Choosing Jomsom Muktinath trek gives you an opportunity to experience Mustang a hidden Shangrila housing world’s deepest gorge. The trek leads to a maximum altitude of 3800m (12,464ft).

To do this trail one does not needs to have any skills, its moderate level. Walking along Kaligandaki gorge with splendid peaks of Annapurna-I & Dhaulagiri which are above 8000m are the main highlights of this trail. On way we can experience hundreds of year’s old monastery, chortens, caves, Indigenious l tribes & a kaleidoscopic landscape.

The trek gets interesting in Tatopani where you will have the opportunity to relax in natural hot springs! Then the trek passes through Jomsom and Kagbeni, the entry point of upper Mustang Region. The grandeur of the Dhaulagiri Glacier is on show a little further up along with the first glimpse of the windy Tibetan Plateau on the way to the holy Hindu pilgrimage site of Muktinath (3800m/12,464 ft). The sacred temple has 108 waterfalls that resemble water flowing from taps and mysterious natural gas fires that boggle the mind. From here it is downhill to Jomsom village on the Tibetan Plateau where you can look around at the gateway to the "Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang", and get a glimpse of the ancient traditions still in practice.

Itinerary - Jomsom Muktinath Trek

Day 1

Pokhara - Jomsom(2720m) - Kagbeni(2810m)

We fly early morning from Pokhara to Jomsom(2720m) and breakfast at Jomsom.

After our breakfast we trek to Kagbeni(2810m). Kagbeni is a very beautiful village with beautiful view of landscape, and beautiful Mountains. Kagbeni is also a gateway to Upper Mustang.

Day 2

Trek from Kagbeni(2810m) - Muktinath(3760m)

Today we will have more steep ascends. Muktinath is a very popular destination for Hindu devotees. There is a belief that taking a shower at this holy place, one will get rid of the sins committed.

Day 3

Trek from Mutinath(3760m) - Jomsom(2720m)

Today we will start to go down on our first and second days trail. The duration will be around six hours.

Day 4

Trek from Jomsom(2720m) - Tukuche(2590m)

Tukuche is a beautiful village itself, we can visit the museum, Gompa & also Mustang distillery here.

On our trail we pass through different lanscapes, caves, farms & temples.

Day 5

Trek from Tukuche(2590m) - Ghasa(2010)

Today mostly the trail is going down, we will have an easy day. On our trail today we see the world’s deepest George called “Kali Gandaki George”, various suspension bridges,wooden bridges & also beautiful apple gardens.

Day 6

Trek from Ghasa(2010) - Tatopani(1100m)

An easy day with beautiful view points. On our trail we pass through Narchyang/lek gaon which is well known for a view point of Dhaulagiri(8173m), Annapurna(8091m) & Nilgiri(6839m).

Evening we can enjoy the Natural hot spring. The water here is naturally warm; people believe that taking shower here can get rid of skin disease.

Day 7

Trek from Tatopani(1100m) - Ghorepani(2840m)

We have a long day today, with very steep climb to reach Ghorepani. On our trail we pass through beautiful Magar villages, we will have more chance to learn about their culture, tradition, festivals & customs.

Travelling this trail on a Month of October & November is much fun-filling. From Ghorepani we can enjoy a very beautiful range of moiuntains.

Day 8

Trek from Ghorepani(2840m) - Hile(1430m)

Today early morning we hike from Ghorepani to Poon Hill(3210m). The view of snow peaks feom Dhaulagiri on the left to Mount Manaaslu is the west is breath taking. We can see three snow peaks that are above 8000m from here.

The first ray of the sun on a white mountains, turning golden color will make you feel like you are on a heavenly place. Walk down to the hotel for breakfast and trak down to Hile. Today’s trail mostly is going down.

Day 9

Trek from Hile(14730) - Nayapul(1070m) and Drive to Pokhara

Today we have an easy day, mostly we will be walking on a flat trail, crossing suspension bridges over modi river that originates from Mt.Annapurna & mt.Hiuchuli, reaching Nayapul our trekking part come to an end.

We drive from Nayapul to Pokhara. The duration of the drive will be for 90m.

Reaching Pokhara you can enjoy the beautiful lunch with your guide. The rest time can explore beautiful Pokhara.
